SDA INTEGRA project team took part in an expert meeting with representatives of academia, NGOs and state bodies involved in migrant and refugee integration. Just weeks away from the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year, the meeting sought to outline concrete steps for cooperation between universities and the organizations, whose mission is to support refugees and migrants in their efforts to adapt to the Bulgarian society. The meeting aimed to provide space for the identification of specific ideas and initiatives which each of the stakeholders recognizes as applicable for the promotion of student engagement and activism on refugee matters, the diversification of academic studies on the topic, as well as the provision of targeted integration support to refugees.

The event was organized by the UNHCR Representation in Bulgaria, Multi Kulti Collective and the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Migrants. Among the participants in the discussion were representatives of Sofia University, Agricultural University of Plovdiv, New Bulgarian University, Bulgarian State Agency of refugees, NGO sector, etc.
